PARAGLIDING INTERLAKEN
What kind of clothing is important for paragliding?
The right paragliding gear ensures that you can enjoy a Interlaken and comfortable flight in Interlaken .
Even if it’s warm on the ground, it can get much cooler in the air. At the same time, you’re exposed to the wind, which is why appropriate clothing is essential.
As a general rule, you don’t need any special equipment—but the right combination of clothes makes all the difference.
In the next section, we'll show you what to keep in mind in summer and winter
The essentials for your paragliding gear
You don't need any special equipment for your paragliding flight—but there are a few essentials you'll need.
Sturdy shoes are essential, since you’ll need to run a few steps at the start. Closed-toe shoes with good support, such as sneakers or lightweight hiking boots, are best.
A windproof jacket protects you from the wind while riding and keeps you from getting cold—even in the summer.
Long pants are also recommended, as they provide extra protection and make the flight more comfortable.
Paragliding in the summer – lightweight clothing with protection
In the summer, light clothing is usually sufficient—the most important thing is to protect yourself from the wind.
The sensation of flying is a bit like riding an e-bike: you’re moving and constantly feel the breeze. Everyone has their own idea of what feels good—some like to fly light, while others prefer to pack an extra layer.
The higher you fly, the more pleasant the temperature often becomes. It can be noticeably cooler in the air than on the ground, which provides natural relief from the heat on hot days.
Even if it’s warm down there, we always recommend bringing a light jacket so you can adapt to the conditions.
Paragliding in winter – warm and well-protected
In winter, wearing the right clothes is essential to ensuring you can enjoy your flight in comfort.
When you're out in the open, you're exposed to the wind, so we recommend wearing layers (the "onion" method) so you can adjust as needed. A warm jacket, gloves, and sturdy shoes are especially important.
Interesting fact: It’s often colder in the valley than at the launch site in the mountains. During the flight, the temperature can even feel more pleasant than on the ground.
Still, it’s best to dress a little warmer—that way, you’ll stay comfortable throughout the entire flight.
Eyewear, accessories, and personal items
In addition to your clothing, there are a few small items that can make your paragliding flight even more enjoyable.
Sunglasses are highly recommended, as you’ll be exposed to wind and sun during the flight. It’s important that they fit well and don’t slip.
If you wear regular glasses, you can keep them on during the flight without any problems.
We cannot store large pieces of luggage, so it’s best Interlaken them at your accommodation or in a locker at the Interlaken train station.
You may bring a small daypack—the driver will transport it to the landing site so that you can retrieve it after the flight.
Small personal items such as keys or cell phones should be securely stowed. For safety reasons, loose items are not permitted during the flight.
To help you preserve your memories, we offer a professional photo and video service, which you’ll receive right after your flight.
